I’m a mum, ex-scientist, come-lately writer, briefly librarian, school ethics teacher, novice nature photographer and book lover. Join me in my quest to become a published author and share the things I learn along the way. I would love to hear about your personal creative journeys too.

On this site I do reviews of mainly adult and YA books in an easy quick-look format. I’ll add notes on the value of the reviewed book for writers.

My blog, Literalleigh, is musings on creativity, posts about writing; practices and lessons learned, the power of words, and my quest to step beyond the comfort zone of an introverted surburbanite.

Natures Lover’s Log used to be a blog on this site but it has moved to a new home.  It is a homage to my first passion – backyard biology – an adventure in observation and taxonomy with my own photos.
